I hunted in the Gallatin mts.above Paridise Valley just south of Livingston in 2004 and had a great time. Saw a lot of elk and mule deer. I'm wondering if the wolves have moved into that area, and, if so how are they impacting the hunting there. I would hate it if the hunting there was damaged severely since I have good memories of the area.

In my opinion it wouldn't be the same.
I have been in that same country for a week in the fall the last eight years. I have seen less deer and elk every year. The wolves may have pushed them down into the valley or into the Boulder Valley. Conciquently there were less deer and elk on public land.

Passed through there a couple of weeks ago. Ranchers I spoke with said that the presence of wolves in the mountains had the cows staying down low in the valley to calve this year, instead of going back up into the mountains. For sure, wolves are causing the surviving elk to try new things and new places...
