I have a CZ550/AHR .416 Rigby, and I really don't see the point in having more than the single standing leaf on a rifle that has integral scope mounts.
If the scope is coming off, then the range has got to be close.
So unless I'm overlooking some vital need, as far as I can see the folding leaves are just extra parts that only have the potential to be in the wrong position at the wrong time. I'd like to take them off, but without damaging them or the sight base. Has anybody done this?
Also, does anyone make front sight blades in different heights for this rifle? It is accurate and groups well, but shoots nearly 18" high at 50 yards. If I stack two bullseye targets one above the other, I'll hit the upper bull while aiming at the lower.
I don't want to file the rear blade because I'd like the option of easily rezeroing if I change loads. I suppose I could get a spare rear sight blade and start over with a file and cold blue, but I'd rather change the front sight if possible.
