Danny boy, why don't you for once post of pic of something you haven't downloaded. Perhaps your "world record" targets or trophies. Hell, I would like to see ANY brown bear you killed, let alone a 10 footer. Come on, quit side stepping everything and fess up. Have a little back bone for once. I would like to see a couple of your home made guns too, you know, the ones that shoot in the same hole all day long? Come on, throw me a cookie. Flinch

If you were to ask like a gentleman instead of an ankle bitter, you could see whatever you would want, within reason.

What are you referring to with the word "downloaded"?

Every picture I've posted was on the same quilt, except the bear, even you should know why I use the same background.

If you're trying to say something, just spit it out. But, be sure to leave yourself some maneuvering room.

I don't agree with much of what you post Dan...but I have indeed noticed the quilt.
Interested in selling it?

DFC,

I don't recall ever repling to one of your threads or comments. I would love to see your 10ft bear. Now THAT would be a once in a lifetime trophy! Let's see some pics and the story behind it....Gentleman James

FWIW,
I'd like to see the pictures and read the story as well. Sounds like a once in a lifetime trophy...

Guys:

I have just activated a nice feature that comes with this new software version ... IGNORE USER. All you have to do is click on somebody's username, then go to the bottom and click the Ignore This User link. Voila! From then on all of that users posts will read "You are ignoring this user."

I think maybe it's time we use this feature. The candy-ass posts are starting to wear thin, and I agree with those who have been emailing me about the recent tone of the website.

Make it easy on me, will ya? If someone is not worth your time, then do us all a favor and set them to ignore, so that we don't get any more of these unnecessary mine is bigger than yours threads.

Rick

Rick,

According to the post below your's, the feature has some ancilliary benefits. Don't worry about the tone of 24hr. You've got a great website and I really enjoy it. Actually too much. If it would turn to crap just a bit and bore me, maybe I could get some work done around the house. Stuff is piling up.

It's either that or a weekly pissing match, and I'm sick of the smell of urine.

Why would you disenfranchise this fine web site of your skilled commentry????

Of all people, Dan, of all people (!!!) why would YOU get upset???

I thought you didn't give a rat's behind what anybody thought???

Rest assured, I will not ignore you.

I like reading what you post. I find it mildly entertaining.

BTW, I agree with LongBob...great site.

Rick, I applaud you for taking this step, as I am sure it will take a lot of un-needed and un-warranted agitation out of our daily posting.

HiCountry, I just graduated with a psych degree. I wrote an 80 page case study on DFC. I used a lot of Freudian examples pertaining to the id the ego and penis envy as they pertain to one's childhood experiences. It was an extremely easy paper to write with the daily dose of examples spewing forth from DFC's computer. I was quite surprised to actually see how psychological elements of one's phsychosis manifest themselves on a daily basis through one's writings. Perhaps Freud was correct after all. I have surely been enlightened on the long term affects of a person being dropped on their head repeatedly and neglected as a child affects the way a person deals with reality and fantasy. Thank you DFC. I got an A+ on the paper and am now teachers pet. HiCountry, if your daughter needs research material or case study notes, I have plenty. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> Flinch

Were your post not tongue in cheek I think you would find that the levels of active mental participation in exaggeration vary tremendously based on energy levels and feedback. The subtle eyeroll that most catch right away is very hard to communicate across the ether. If one is suffering grandiose delusions, even in a minor way, and does not get checked by the eyeroll or arms suddenly folded across the chest, they enlarge the story until they get checked (as in a hockey check).

When no checks are visible, things can get out of hand fast. I am certain there are elements of truth to all of DFC's claims. The problem is that three guys stand over one bear and one guy says "Nice 9' bear!" And the other says, "No way, that is a 10' bear!" Regardless the actual taped measurement, it has become a 10' bear, but tempered with "Not a monster" language.

A common thing of the same sort is when someone says they have a B&C critter of some kind and then say they do not enter them because they do not believe in record books... Well, why do you suppose they made the claim in the first place? There is always that doubt about whether the final score will come in where they hoped.

This is not by way of DFC bashing as it appears Elvis has left the building, but to help you understand what happens in normal conversation. Everyone has likely come up against the type that always has a better story than the one just told, yet remarkably similar to it, and baited them with far-out stories to see just how far they can get the person to go. It is a simple lack of vision that allows them to miss extremely obvious gestures and signs that they are not being believed.

The generally accepted most frequent cause of such actions is simple attention-seeking coupled with excessive introspection and self-centeredness... like the solopsist the world beyond their range does not exist. They feel they are being ignored and that is intolerable.

Anyway, DFC will be back and not too far away. He will continue to read the board and stay current, hoping to be named so everyone can say how wrong they were. The discomfort level simply got too high and having his goal spelled out too clearly bothered him tremendously. There is no doubt someone here knows who he is and has failed to provide what he wanted, recognition.

Well, I sure don't want to cause any trouble here...but I figured out some things about DFC too.
1) He has more than one computer/screen name on here.
2) One of his other names is.......Muleskinner !!!
