When discussing issues, every member here is entitled and has a right to their opinion. Why can't "agree to disagree" be a reasonable option? It doesn't require that either side change its views, but simply agrees to allow different views.

Your apparent desire to rush to the defense of poor ol' "Junior" here is laudable, but in this particular instance, I'm afraid you are sadly mistaken.

If "Junior," had any desire to participate in a "discussion" of this topic, he should have responded to DMB's initial post by not only stating his opinion, but also providing some sort of supporting rationale or facts to back it up.

However, rather than do this, "Junior's" initial response was:

"I'm voting Democrat because the Republicans have driven this country to the verge of bankruptcy and to the edge of disaster."

Comments such as these on an internet forum are rarely interpreted as one's "opinion" as you allege, but are usually viewed by others as being simply a "flame" or a response which is not constructive, does not clarify a discussion, and does not persuade others.

It seems to me that legitimate posters here are treated fairly, but on the other hand, Campfire members appear to have little patience with "flamers," and as such, they are usually dealt with rather harshly.
