Does anyone know which side mount I need for these 4 receiver holes, and if so, where I might find one??? Thanks, Mike...

Mike I thought I would never see this pattern of holes again. I just sold a 1958 " F ' in 308 with exactly the same hole placement. I looked all over but could not find a mount and thought it was a home made job. Why would someone do this to a rifle when it is factory drilled and weaver makes a #119 and 114 pivot mount. If I ever find out I"ll let you know. I havn"t been on the forum for awhile but will try a little more often Bob

Thanks Bob. I have seen stranger thing done than this. I am with you, why drill a factory drilled rifle???
But anyways, hopefully someone can chime in with the answer.
Thanks, Mike...

OK - the answer is...!
Forget it and use the factory drilled holes with a nice 2 piece Redfield mount.

Perhaps they did not have the top mounts to hand and they had the side mount. Perhaps they discovered as I did that you can't use the iron sights with the Weaver pivot mounts. I don't see the point in the pivot mounts , you pivot the scope to the side and the bases are still in the way of seeing the irons.

The holes will match up with a PACHMAYR Lo Swing side mount.
