Looking for a nilgai hunt in Texas that is affordable. Trophy size is not important but I do want a bull.

Those prices are insane. Keep looking there are much cheaper hunts. I reserved a spot on a ranch here in TX for a 150"class whitetail buck, one doe a hog and two nights in a cabin for $600 the king ranch wants 5,700 for one 150" buck. My hunt will start Oct,31 and I will be setting up in a area that has no fences with a ground blind next to trails leading to feeding areas. The ranch is so inundated with deer that later in the season deer can be taken free of charge to thin out the heard mostly does as long as you already had a reservation for an earlier hunt.

First off welcome to the fire, Joe. Glad to have you.

Second, nobody appointed me watchdog but just a friendly bit of advice to keep you out of trouble. I am sure you didn't know but if you want to try to sell something here it is best if you handle the matter by pm.

Mr Rick kind of frowns on anybody but paid advertisers selling things like hunts and stuff.

As I said you probably didn't know that but just wanted you to know.

BTW check Yturria ranch in Raymondville... I had good hunts on nilgai there years ago and it was reasonably priced.

I"m trying to figure out airboat access to the public nilgai.. may or may not get that done eventually...

Thanks, I got the airboat, just don't know the territory, need a good correct map, and some snooping time... though King has to be posted one way or another. Its tidal flats thats the issue, with owning an airboat its only costing me gas and time.. not guide fees and trophy fees...

I love the meat!

Many of us must think alike(scary). I'm from Virginia & hunt Texas almost every year & love it. I sent a PM this AM to see if I could hop on his train. No reply.

I agree with Ziggy that King Ranch prices for whitetail are outrageous, but if he is getting a 150" class hunt for $600 he knows someone, or its one of those day hunt deals where he'll be sharing a 300 acre pasture with 20 other people at the same time.

Or....it's just a bunch of BS. Sorry, Ziggy.
