I was perusing the GunsAmerica Ruger # 1 listings and saw a dealer ( Halifaxsupply ) advertising that he had 10 on order with 6 already sold at the princely sum of $1400.00. Lipsey's site doesn't show anything ( that I can find ). Anyone heard any good news on them yet? Thanks for any help.

Was just thinking about these the other day. $1400 sounds steep though, doesn't it? Are they #1A models, stainless w/ blk/gray laminate stock?

Send out two email inquiries to some of my gun sources. Both say no news yet.

I believe they will be stainless metal with regular walnut wood ( if they are like their previous models ).

Thanks for checking, biglmbass..

I hope they are at least $1400. That will keep me from getting one! With a couple of 25-06s and 257s I really don't need a 250! smile

It would be pretty easy to just re-barrel a No.1A to a 250 Savage and a heck of a lot cheaper, unless you think that rifle will have some collector value, which I don't think it will....

I would predict the K1A in .250 Savage will attain a higher value than any of the previous 4 K1A Exclusives. My reasoning is: The .250 Savage has never been chambered in a No.1. It is an extremely popular cartridge, still. It has been some time since this chambering has been available in an M77 and most of these M77's in .250 Savage will bring a premium over a more common chambering. There is a modest collector following for these annual Lipsey K1A Exclusives. There will be a significant number of buyers just to have one to shoot. There is supposed to be just 250 of them in the run. That is my nickels worth.

You are absolutely correct.

My personal opinion is that the listed $1400.00 price tag is the rifle cost ( my .25-06 was $879.00 ) plus the dealer "inflation". Like atkinson wrote - I'd re-barrel one before I'd pay $1400.00 to a dealer for one. And I like the 1A a lot.

Hint.....seen an article in Varmint Hunters mag where a guy chambered a 25 10t bbl to 25BR put on 1a...same basic contour IIRC, sporter dia. and man it FLAT shot!

3000 w/100 ballistic tips in itty bitty groups!

I shoot 6br, have shot 7br, and ready to try one to match my user name 6.5BR. The 6.5 x 47 Lapua and Creedmoore 6.5 is under consideration as well.....of course own 260 and 6.5x55 (K1A)

If I could get into a 250 reasonable, I will, but if the price gets crazy (as in any higher than the 6.5x55s were), I'll pass on Lipsey's 250.

As a side note, they are also offering a mannlicher 77 RSI SS/Walnut but the short 18" ....leaves me wanting....in 6.5x55. Nice package, in a 358 Win it would be efficient as a 338 federal would be....a 20" would have been nice in the 6.5 small bore....a 260 would have offered a short action....a 6.5x54 would have been CLASSIC. Ruger sent some 54's to Europe from what I heard in the past.

What was the going rate for the 6.5x55 models? When they were readily available, that is?

The prices have been all over; I still have one that is New that I will sell for $1000 +$30 to ship it to your FFL. I have not seen any on the Internet sites that low.
Anyone still wanting one of these K1A's in 6.5x55, just let me know.

The 6.5 #1's were under 1k, so if the figure above of 1,400 is accurate.....someone will have to want them more than I do.

The 77 bolts in 6.5x55, the SS/Mannlicher list retail IIRC at 950.
