.30 Carbine M1 Carbine walking rifle .308 Ruger 77RS w/Leupold 1.75-6x32 12 ga 870 slug gun w/Leupold 3x20
I counted the 870 only because I do some deer hunting in a county that does not allow rifles.

Depending on terrain and game:
m99 Savage in 308 Mk V Weatherby SS in 270 wby M77 semi custom in 260 Rem, 12 pounder.
For elk I usually use a 300 Win not on the list. Blacktail deer in the brush normally get the savage. Long clearcuts and High desert out east get the Weatherby or the Ruger. Plinking I use the 260 alot.

looking a hunting rifles here, or varmint, but not target or cartridges you simplylike. just the one you actually hunt with. To clarify my previous -- do you want the ones we like best based on hunting and actually shooting something, or the ones we like hunting with even if we haven't shot anything with them? For me those are quite different lists, sadly ... John

.22lr - 10/22 .338 Win - Ruger MKII 30-06 - Marlin MR-7
However, I betting my new .223 will replace one of these once I get the scope mounted.

That's an interesting question. Most used would be, oddly enough, .444 Marlin, .32 WCF and .270 Winchester. Naturally, the first two are in lever actions, and the .270 is in a Winchester Featherweight Classic which I purchased shortly after they brought back the claw extractor and CRF. I am a big fan of the .30-06 too. All boring choices, I know. No hotrods in there. I do like the .338 Win Mag (though never actually "used" one), but even that's boring by today's standards, I guess.

1.) Browning Trombone - 22 LR (made in 1948) - iron sights 2.) Browning Eclipse M1000 - 300 WinMag - Leupold 3-9X40 scope. 3.) Tikka 30-06 (older version) - Bushnell 3-9X40 scope.
All of which are tack drivers, if I do my part.
