Got a Norinco ATD yesterday. What a blast. I'm a lefty and this is my first semi that is fun. Really neat.

You probably haven't fired it much yet while wearing a long sleeve shirt. Bruce

It's a great little rifle. It works just as well as the Browning, just not as pretty.

I've shot several righty auto's and know a bottom eject is tops with me. Besides, it's just fun. Standard 22 auto's bounce brass of my face. 10-22's bounce brass into my arm. M-16's put brass up my sleeve, even with brass deflectors. The Norinco / Browning design discriminates equally.

can't speak for the bullets, but the brass hits where I expect it to...
Actually, I haven't fired it at paper yet. I was waiting to scope it. I just gave up on the scoping and put a peep style blade into the rear sight. I like the way it points quick with it there. I'll do some paper punching at some point. It was spinning the metal clinker tatgets regular at fifty-ish yards before.

I bought one for my son years ago when Walmart carried them for $100. It shoots lights out with subsonic ammo. Pretty much one hole at 25 yds. It carries an old Bushnell 4x Banner .22, which is a straight tube model. Even with the thick crosshairs, it will shoot almost any ammo well.
I have heard that accuracy varies widely from gun to gun in this model. All I know is that ours is great. I use it to squirrel hunt regularly because of its compactness. My son is more of a shooter than a hunter, so I have access to the ATD any time.

Welll, put on the peep and it shot way high. Had to do some tinkering. Flipped the peep blade over and drilled a new hole on the mill for it. I also had to file down the top / bottom of the blade for it to sit lower in the sight. Took awhile, and now the sight projects above the blade, like buckhorns to either side of the peep blade. After I get it sighted for height I might mill down the sight to an even fit.

Corelokt, you won't buy ammo from Walmart but you will buy a Communist Chinese rifle? TFU
