***(.309 diameter)*** .30 Caliber 185 gr. Speer/Lapua Match Bullets! #2061
I have 12 un-opened boxes of 50 (10 boxes are still in their original shrink-wrapped packages of 5 boxes each), plus 1 opened box containing 36 bullets for a total of 636 bullets. These bullets date back to the early-mid 70s
These bullets have a Sectional Density of .277 and a Ballistic Coefficient of .699. Loading data for them is found in the Speer #9 Reloading manual, and possibly the older Vihtavuori and Lapua manuals as well. I believe Lapua still manufactures these as the D46 and D47.

As stated in the Speer # 9 Reloading manual:
Speer distributes the superbly accurate, Finnish , Lapua .30 caliber, step-boat tail, match bullets in 170 and 185 grain weights in both .308 and ,309 diameters. Data shown is for the .309 diameter and may be used also with the .308 bullets.
Competitive match shooters have their choice of Lapua bullets in two weights and two diameters. Tests indicate that the .309 diameter bullets may have a slight accuracy edge over .308 diameter in standard bores. In tighter bores the smaller diameter is recommended. Both weights give excellent long range performance. Ultimate choice depends on which gives the best grouping in individual rifles. Data shown for the .309 Lapua bullets may also be used for .308 diameter bullets and ballistics will be substantially the same.
Information is listed for the .308 Winchester, 30-06, .300 H&H, .308 Norma Mag., .300 Win Mag and the .300 Weatherby Magnums.
