My HCR .25-06 has been sitting idle for a while after graciously donating her scope for use on the new .300 RUM. Ive been cruising the classifieds trying to snatch up the right scope for a month now but alas it was not to be. Was down at Cabelas on Saturday morning, and couldnt resist picking up one of the Burris 3-9 combos with the 8x binocs for $199 just so I could go shoot the .25, and I figured I could use the binocs as a loaner set.

Mounted it up in some low Talleys, bore-sited it and proceeded to make it bang. After a few rounds to get her dialed at 100, heres how it shot at 200. Never noticed before that these two loads happen to shoot the exact same place at 200 yards but I havent shot the Sierras in a long time. Two different weights, two different powders same POI. Kind of cool anyone else have this happen with any kind of regularity??

Yeah, my new Tikka T3 in 25-06 shoots every load to the same POI +/- 0.5" regardless of bullet style, bullet weight, or powder used.

Yep... it's one of those rifles... you point it at stuff... and it takes over. I must say though... crazy as it sounds... I like it better with the HS stock, than I did with the Mickey.

I have a Remington 30-06 which shoots 150 Partitions and 165 Partitions to the same POI, different powder for each load.

I had a Remingon 280 that shot 140 Partitions and 154 Hornady RN to the same POI using the same powder.

My NULA 257BOB shoots everything from 75gr V-MAX's to 115 Partitions in the same spot 1.5 straight up. I shot a 4 shot group using 4 different bullets that was just over a .50 at 100yrds.

I haven't got to shoot my M20 7mm-08 that much but I hope it is the same way.

Extreme accuracy doesn't matter that much to me as I am a hunter not a match shooter but I sure like a gun that is consistent in where it puts them and it is sure nice to not have to adjust my scope everytime I go out with a different bullet or load

I do not think it is all that common, but my 25-06 will do the same thing. It is a custom rifle with a Remington action and a Lilja barrel. It will shoot everything from 75 grain V-Max to 100 Partitions to 100 TSX to 115 Ballistic Tips right in the same spot. This drives my dad crazy. He owns 25-06 and .257 Wby Mag rifles and they shoot to very different points of impact when you switch bullets.

I own a custom 22-250 Ackley Improved which displays this trait as well. It just doesn't matter; 40, 50, 55, or 60 grain bullets all land together. I own two Remington's chambered in 22-250 Remington and they shoot different bullet weights in distinctly different places.

I used to have a Ruger Number One chambered in .338 Win Mag that shot 200 grain Hornadys and 250 Sierra to exactly 6 inches difference in elevation. (Had to keep it sighted in for one or the other.)

I've seen a couple of guns do it at 100 yards... but I thought it was unique to see it happen at 200... on accident no less. Good to know my rifle isn't an absolute freak of nature... though the coyote population would beg to differ.

Maybe it's a .25-06 thing... just another trait to love.

Yes; have some that did it,and surprisingly they were 7 Rem Mags a 300 Win Mags. Mostly Kreiger barrels, but the 300 would stick the 180's and 165's the same place at 100-300;they were not far off at 400, but the 180 showed more drop.

One 7 mag was freaky,as it would put 140 Nosler,140 Bitterroot, and 160 Partition in the same very small group at 100 yards. The 140's used IMR 4831,and the 160 used 7828.Hated to see that barrel wash out.....

My present 30/06 puts 165 Partition, 165 Sierra, and 150 AB the same place at 100.

The 280 Remington is overbore.

The 7 Rem Mag is over bore.
