I know this is off topic of the savages, but I didn't know anyone else that might know anything about it..Picked up a partial gun, and am wondering its worth if I re-sell it. See pic. [Linked Image]

The 52 was produced from 1920 to 1932. It had a 3/4 length military type wood stock with a front barrel band. It should have a front target type sight where the filler is. The barrel mounts are in the right place but not sure if they are the originals. It was replaced by the 52A from 1932 to 35 .Then the 52B from 35 to 47 and finally the 52C from 1947 to 1961. What you have is an early target type 22 cal.The original was designed by T.C.Johnson.It had many lengths and types of barrels. It was shot at the natinal rifle matches at Camp Caldwell in New Jersy. Only worth a little for parts unless you have the clip (curved conture) and bolt. Each rifle was supposed to be better than the last. Winchester did bring out a Model 52B in the 90's that was made in Miroku. Hope this helps a bit. Bob

Any rings in the barrel? The outside looks very good. Why would you rob the bolt and stock?

I've got a Lyman tang sight, windage adjustable marked WF coming in a couple weeks for that make of rifle. Haven't seen it, might be a 103 if I guess right. Should be on Fleabay about 2 days after it gets here.

Know nothing of the gun though Todd, sorry.

I looked at the serial # and saw the " B ". I think this is in the 1935 to 47 area. There was about 125,000 total rifles Made according to my Winchester book.Someone probably needed parts for a better rifle?

That is one beautiful original rifle. With a carry case and that scope should make any owner feel like a million bucks

tal35, I tried to PM you but you're over the limit.

Email me if you decide to sell the parts.
