Thought some of you guys might want to know, but i just received my new bottom metal from PT&G for my 700 la and it is very nice. I went with a anodized aluminum version and the fit, finish and overall quality seem great. It ran about $90.00. You can see all of there items at the website they have.lots of nice stuff for remington 700. I don't work for them...just like to let folks know when you find nice products.

Their bolt shrouds and firing pins are top notch as well.

It was a drop in on my rifle. My stock is a Bell & Carlson medalist that was designed to fit the remington 700 LA. The B&C stock has a full length bedding block. I used the stock magazine metal with PT&G bottom metal and the fit was perfect. No binding between the action and bottom metal and a perfect fit with the B&C stock.I must be honest, i did not check the weight. It felt lighter than the stock Remington bottom metal if that helps.Much better fit & finish vs. the stock metal.I do design work in the fishing industry and have lot's of items machined for various customers.PT&G does very nice work.

That's nice to hear, I was wondering if anyone made a nice aluminum, factory spec bottom metal. Sometimes the Remington pot metal honestly feels like plastic to me.

Thanks for the tip. I have been looking for something a bit better than the factory one but without the high price tag of a Williams or Sunny Hill.

Everything you now do is something you have chosen to do. Some people don't want to believe that. But if you're over age twenty-one, your life is what you're making of it. To change your life, you need to change your priorities.
