There are only 2 different magazines for the 99C, those made for the 284 and those that weren't. The 22-250/243/250-3000/ 7mm-08/308 magazines are the most common.

I think the question is were any of the 99C clips marked "22-250"? I have not seen one. The clip that came with my .22-250 is not marked .22-250 and the rifle is next to new so probably has the original clip in it.

Yes, they were marked .22-250 later on - along with all the other calibers.

The one I have never seen is the 7MM-08. Dont' think they ever stamped that one.

Thanks Steve; sent you my address.

I also saw one with the 22-250 on the clip a couple of years ago.I guess that is why I got confused.A friend told me the 22-250 clip may have a little spacer in it because the shell is shorter, thus would make the action work easier and smoother.Do not know that as a fact or not.I do know the action works kinda hard with the one I have; but have no others to compare with, and the one I have is almost new. Thanks all for the input.I learned something tonite and that makes for a good night. Doug

I have seen the magazines marked "22-250", but never "7mm-08".

I don't recall ever having seen a 99C magazine with a block in it to shorten it for the 22-250.
