Looking for accuracy first and then lethality for a 25.06 load for primarily deer hunting. I will also use it for hogs/varmints. What bullet and weight, powder, would you recommend? Thanks Esox357.

I usually use a 100 grain bullet because my Savage shoots them better than the 115-117s. Currently though I am shooting Nosler 115s over 48.5 gr. of H4350. That powder charge does well with 117 Hornadys too. My 100 gr. load is 51.5 H4350 at 3350 fps in a 24 inch tube.

Many on this forum like the 100gr bullets for the 25/06. I prefer 120gr for deer and especially for hogs. The 120 or 115gr Partitions are great, if your rifle likes them. If not, the 120gr Hornady HP, or the 120gr Speer Hot Core perform very well. Sierra recommends IMR4350, and that powder at about 48-50gr has workded for me in several 25/06's...not the highest velocity possible, but close to 3000fps with very good accuracy.

My former 25-06 loved IMR 4350 and 115gr bullets. My combination was 48.0gr and 115gr Ballistic Tips - SCARY ACCURATE!

In several different 25-06 rifles, I've had great luck with 51 grains of H4831 using 117 grain Hornady and/ or 120 grain Hornady bullets. Great accuracy and performance on game.

The 120 Part. and H4350 impressed me the few I shot pigs with.
