Took this combo out today. It was a bit breezy, 10-20 mph, but I tried to set up with the wind at my back.

Had swapped out some base/rings so did a quick 100 yd zero, then went back to 560 yards.

The load is:
45.0gr AA2230C
moly'd 155 Scenar
Win brass
CCI 200
2.80" OAL
2805 fps from 20.5" bbl

The Scenar doesn't do bad jumping .15" or so in the Remmy chamber/throat.

100 yard zero, 5-shots, almost impressed myself....grin

Two 560 yard 5-shot groups after fine-tuning data and aiming off center, both about 2.5".

WOW that is some scenery. That little remmy shoots pretty good in 10-20 mph winds even if they were at your back.

Very nice!

That scenery picture looks like a great place to glass up a coyote... then find out how well those 155s let the air out of'em.

Shane, we have just started playing with the 155's as well. I'm not much of a 308 fan, but even I have to admit that the 155 Scenar turns the 308 into a different animal compared to the 175SMK.

Getting 2970 in the GAP 26"er w/45.4gr of '15. It's a pretty suprising little bullet. We're running 28-29MOA to 1K off a 200yd zero and it smokes the 175 in the wind.

Which Remmy?

I have the 26" LSS (just got it as a post surgery present from me to me)

I'm looking at the Berger VLDs.

Seen this thread? Lots of good 308 stuff there:

David, if you are talking to me..Yes sir I've seen that one, I just don't shoot much 308 any more. My 223AI/75A-max gets the brunt of the work and will shoot inside the 308/175 combo out to 1K and only burns up 26gr of powder to do it. The 308 I'm talking about (in my above post) is a Rock Barreled rifle from GAP.

Brad,

At 2805 fps, I'm making 1000 yards right at 30 moa, from a 100yd zero. That would work out about the same as yours with 2970/200yd zero, but the elevation here helps a lot.

My 45.0 gr load is fairly mild but accurate, 46.0 gr gave me 2860 fps

That's a nice lookin' 308.

Sam,

I've been fiddlin' with this rifle for a while, mods here and there. I like it quite a bit. It's basically the 700 VS LH, cut to 20.5", HTG stock, Badger bling all around, and a MK4 3.5-10x40 M1.

Shane and Brad,

What butt stock pouch do you have on those rifles?

Nice rigs and nicer shooting btw.

Those are Eagle Stock Packs, they work great to get a decent cheekweld, espeially on the HTG's and their low comb.

Shane, I've read quite a bit of your data post's and it never ceases to amaze me the drop data you get at your ele. We're ALOT closer to sea level here.

Since I've started using the stock pack, I also notice less movement is transferred into the rifle from my face via pulse.

I put one on the 30-06 too, just because I liked it that much on the 308.

Elevation where I'm shooting is about 4500', I haven't shot my rifles at low elevations, but I've looked at the numbers JBM generates by manipulating the elevation, and it is quite significant.
