I am getting a Brown Bess Musket and need a source for a seventy-five caliber round ball mould. Does anyone have any sources for such a beast?

Lyman used to make a .735 diameter mould if that is close enough. I don't shoot muzzleloaders so I don't know exactly what size a '.75 caliber'. uses. I use the .735 in a M1100 rifled shotgun. I believe NEI also makes large caliber round ball moulds.

I beleive you need the .715 mould. It should be a regular Lyman item. Remenber, you need room for the patch. Old denim will probably do. I don't have a Brown Bess, though I know folks who do. I use the .690 in my Mortimer 12 ga., and my Navy double. I use the worn out jean material for patching.
