I have a M/1889 Marlin lever gun in .44-40 (BP) with a broken firing pin. We have tried a half-dozen different variations of pins described as 1889-model firing pins, and all are too short. I hate to relegate this to wall-hanger status. Anyone have any idea where I can get a genuine replacement for this relic? Thanks.

You tried Wisner's? I've got an 89 parts gun. It's a 32-20, but I would'nt think that should matter. I'll measure the pin if you want. If that doesn't work, I have an old time gunsmith that can build or fix anything, and does it unbelievably cheap. Send me a PM. Dave

Any luck with firing pin?
I have an 1889 38-40 made in 1895, so I'm curious.
