Picked this up for my all-around camp gun. Always wanted one and this one showed up at a local shop. Anybody have experiences with one good or bad? This is .22 mag over 3'' 20 guage. Tom W.

I had one exactly like it, and like a dumb azz I sold it.

I used it for 5 or 6 years hunting small game, I did something some will frown on with it, I was squirrel hunting when a bunch of grouse came walking toward me, when they were within shotgun range I shot one with the 22 mag and of course they flew and I quickly switched barrels and shot another on the wing with the shotgun, yes that was my plan and I was succesful with it.

That is the first and only double on anything else I ever tried. grin

Corelokt, I don't think I can sell it.I got it in the door by telling my wife it was one of her anniversarry presents. She did put a half a box of 22's through it. The first time she has shot in quite a few years, so I guess she owns it. Luckily she shares well. Hubert that is the kind of chances I am looking forward to.thanks for the story. Tom W.

I have several of them and think that the 22Mag/20Ga is about perfect for a barn/camp/ranch/survival/truck gun. I perfer to scope mine and use the B-Square adapters and Warne QR rings on the rimfires. The best article that I have read on the Savage 24 was written by Marshall Stanton and can be found at www.beartoothbullets.com. A useful accessory for a 22 Magnum is a 22 LR adapter from Ace Dube. You can find them at www.mcace.com.

There a great gun!! I had one as a kid and sold it. It killed a bunch of squirles, rabbits, grouse and the odd house cat that got mouthy.........

Dont sell it, unless its to me of course!

Yeah, Wives is to smart to fall for that "it's for you Hon" line, they expect it to really be theirs, even tho they know you didn't mean it. said "sarcastically" "I wish I had a fancy bow like yours so I could just take off and go hunting".
I bought her one for her birthday.
The next year she forgot and said the same thing about a 22 rifle. I bought her one.

The next year she remembered and said "I want a rototiller" I bought her a troybuilt.

Jeff, thanks for the info. I might have to try one of those adapters Corelokt, I'd draw the bow and shoot that gun, but draw the line at pushing that troybilt. Guess I won't use that line again!:) Tom W.
