I have a customer that needs some work done on some rather old rifles (pre-1800's). One has a broken stock; I'm not sure what the other one needs. I took one look at the pictures and knew the work was well out of my league so I'm looking for recommendations of who to send this fellar to.
Thanks in advance,
Tony Smith

The Freewheeling Tony Smith Gunsmith/Machinist/Engine Builder
I have a friend that builds period muzzleloaders (all but the barrels he does by hand - they are really something to see!) and does restorations from time to time.....he is a stickler for detail (history, period, etc....). His work is phenomenal (a bit backed up though). His name is Randy Sherman and he in lives near Emlenton, Pennsylvania.......PM me if you want more information.
The flinter is an Arab Jezail. It could actually be much less than 100 years old. They are or have been seen in Afghanistan in the 1920's and 30's That rifle might NOT be as old as you think it might be.
Be afraid,be VERY VERY afraid ad triarios redisse My Buddy eh76 speaks authentic Frontier Gibberish!
I work for a master gunsmith in Haltom City, Texas, he has developed many different chemicals to produce a varity of finishes for all kinds of period firearms. If you like, PM me and I will send his name and cell#. I have seen him repair stocks and put the finish on them where you could not tell that there was a repair. Now he is not cheap, nor is he the most expensive and he takes his time to get it correct. He is what I consider a perfectionist without the attitude some have.
