As I'M new to the 375 I'd like to hear about people's pet loads. Cases, primers, powder, bullets c.o.l., speeds - the words, if you don't mind sharing. I've got most of the books - but nothing trumps actual experience - and right now, when it comes to the 375 - that is something I'm lacking.

Brian, I shoot Noslers top end book load of 73 of R15 with the 260 Accu a bit, it shoots well and runs @ 2700 in my 23" barrel. I almost forgot to say that this is my fire form load for my 375 Roy.

I shoot mostly 300 grainers; Parts, I Lock's and Hornady solids. 78grs. H4350 works for me. Another 2 grains of the same for 270 Hornadys. Each use WW cases and Fed. 215's. Speeds are 2,500 and change for 300's and 270's are slightly under 2,700 from a 24 in bbl..
H414/W760 is supposed to be a great powder too; never used it in 375 HH.
Hope you njoy the 375!

I have used Win brass primarily but will have to be switching to Rem brass now that Win has bailed (have some but haven't used it yet)
Primers: CCI 250 or Fed 215GM
Powder: RL15 for all. by far the best, IMO
I've used Nosler, Hornady, X, and TSX in 260,270,300.
I've gravitated now to using primarily 300 TSX (low 70 grs of RL15) but have had good results with 270 TSX (mid 70 grs of RL15).

I like the 270gr TSX over a charge of RL-15 and Fed 215M primer.
I've gotten good results with IMR 4064 in the .375H&H as well.
Thoroughly enjoying Alaska since 2001.

76 grains of 4350 under a Woodleigh 270 grain bullet. Kills everything that you could possibly want to kill. Primer or make of case makes no difference for this load.

I like IMR-4064, RL-15 in my .375..I like the 350 gr. Woodleighs in RN and PP, the 300 gr. Northforks, GS Customs flat nose solids are my favorite, Northforks has been saved and it is one heck of a bullet and I just love those Cup Points for Buffalo. The 250 and 300 gr. Sierras are good deer and elk bullets and cheap..
Truth is there is little about bullet failure where the .375 H&H is concerned, 300 grs. of bullet failure is rare indeed.

At the moment, I'm shooting 72 grains of RL15 under a 260 grain accubond in a 700 XCR. My previous .375 was a stainless Ruger #1 which shot the same load but used the ballistic tip. The Ruger was about 1.5 pounds heavier but kicked worse ... stock design, I guess. The Ruger was more accurate, around .75 inch, the 700 is more in the 2" range, both for 3 shot groups.
Prior to that, 20 years ago, I had a blued #1 which I fed a 270 grain hornady spire point and 70 grains of 4064.
That reminds me, though lower velocity, the 700 threatened accuracy with the accubond and 4064 the other night, .8" at both 68 and 69 grains, so while it's not tested, one of these days I'll re-shoot at 68, 68.5, and 69 and see if the results repeat.

I have a load for my 375 Wby with 235 TSX's that shoots quick and shoots well.
I kind of wish that they'd make a 250 TSX...

It does seem that a 250 gr TTSX with a boattail - and a plastic tip - might be the "perfect" 375 bullet for North American use doesn't it?
Bring on the tipped homogeneous bullets.

I used a 270 FXB over 74gr od RL 15 for 2730fps. Could have gone for more velocity but a 270 at that speed gets things done. By after the new year if the 9.3x66 doesn't show I will most likely go with the 375HH in an 85, but i really want the 9.3

Brian, what kind of 375 do you have, does it have a 24" barrel?

Wholesale Sports in Kamloops had the gun, the scope, the rings, the powder I wanted, the dies, the ammo, the bullets, the cleaning equipment - on the rack. And a knowledgeable staff - to boot. The 19 year old kid (who initially I didn't want to deal with - as I preferred some one with more knowledge) knew the answer to almost every question I asked! What a kid! He's built his own rifles and competition 1000 yard competitions! He reminded myself of a young "Me"!!! Do yourself a favour - order one though them - and visit me when you go to pick it up!

It's got a 24 3/8's barrel. Sako Synthetic Model 85. It's the best rifle I've ever owned in my life! Totally slick, foolproof, absolutely accurate and it has a perceived lack of recoil - like you wouldn't believe! Light too - at 7 lbs (or a little under!) I'm almost embarrassed by how much I love it. Did you read my report on it in the "Hunting Rifle" section? My wife's is a bit jealous! I mean - doesn't every man play with his new rifle in bed every night? I must have cycled five hundred rounds though it - and cycled the bolt a few thousand times by now. I can drop the clip with one hand over and over again - in a practiced second.

Just for grins I'm gonna try loading the 235 gr. Speer on top of RL15 this weekend. Hoping to get some nice tight groups out of that. Next I'll try RL15 under those Hornady 220's / 225's, but I'm betting they won't like RL15....
It's you and the bullet, and all the rest is secondary.

Brian, if they came out with a 250 TTSX I'd be big time all over it!

One load that I like for big game here in the US is: Speer 270 gr BTSP 70 gr of IMR 4064 Winchester Case Federal 215 primer
Works like a death ray on deer & antelope.
