Is this forum running extremely slow? It's taking forever and is most annoying.

I had the same problem. I switched to FireFox browser instead of IE. Downloaded the Ad-Block for FF and it took care of all the slowness, no more looking at all the ads and the forum loads FAST. Win/Win. So in my situation it was the ads that was slowing everything down. Give it a try and if you don't like it you can always delete it. I understand that the ads pay the bills here but I was to the point of not even visiting the forums because it was so slooooooow.

It also might be worthwhile to try de-cookie-ing your whole machine rather than just doing it on this site. It seems likes the slowness shows up at different times for different people.
Not a real member - just an ordinary guy who appreciates being able to hang around and say something once in awhile.
