I got Tink's to work for the 3rd time.

I shot a nice little 9pt on Saturday durring MN's gun opener. My dad claims it's a 10pt, but it depends on what your deffinition of a point is. It has a regular 8pt rack with two little "tree wreckers" coming off the near the bases. One is about 1 1/4" long and the other is about a 3/4" long.

On the way back to the stand after a quick lunch, I decided to try the drag rag thingy I bought on Friday before season. I doused it with Tink's about 300 yds from my stand, stopping about every 100yds or so to freshen it up a bit. I did it again about 50 yds from my stand, and then hung it up in a tree at the base of my stand.

He came in with his nose to the ground until he heard the "snick" of the saftey of the 7600. He saw me, his eyes got real big, and then I shot. He dropped instantly, never even kicked. Just dead.

The 150gr Core Lokt went in at the neck/shoulder, and exited the opposite shoulder, with a big mess in between.

Good looking buck, the background looks almost identical to a place I grew up hunting in North Idaho. The Kromer just adds to the pic.

If you do your part...the 7600 will do its part. I love these guns. Not fancy, not high tech, they just flat out work. Like any good tool does. I have shot three buck and who knows how many does with them. I have other guns, but where the rubber hits the road, the 7600 gets the nod.

Next year, a 99 in 300 savage will see some field time though.

Thanks, I like the kromer too. It really does work.

That stuff in the backgroud is thick nast black spruce type stuff. It is mossy spongey ground. Not much else grows except pine. Where the pics are taken, is on an old tractor path on some of the firmer ground.

He was shot at 15yds or a little less. Which has been about average in that stuff. There is one area in there I can see about 100yds, but could never shoot that far in it. more like 40 in that area.
