...or the '06 vs. the 7RM or the 7RM vs. the .300WM if the truth be known.

My Model 70 Featherweight chambered in 7 RM was one of the first rifles I bought in Canada. It has never failed me when I needed it to work in the field. It still shoots 175 grain Partitions and 175 grain TBBC to 3/4" after almost 5000 rounds through it. It will shoot 160 grain TSX into 1/2". Each of the aforementioned loads have accounted for game. I doubt that I will ever permit myself to be without a 7 mm RM, even though I have a 280 and a 7 WSM which are almost fine shooting rifles.
I had a Browning Eurobolt in 7 RM which would group 10 rounds into 3/4". I let it go so I could buy a 300 WSM. I do wish I had it back.

Where did you say we are going? And why are we in this handbasket?

My FFL has a couple on his shelves. One is an ADL synthetic Remington 700, the other is a Savage, also blue and synthetic with the accutrigger. Both are like new. Sticker is about 350 on the savage, and 400 on the Remington.
Looking at one or the other for a beater hunting rifle.

I bought a m 70 classic about 6 years ago, and I didn't use til this year. Mounted a scope, and loaded 160 gr partitions with Rl 25. I took it deer hunting and took a buck with a heart shot. Plain, old 7mm alright, but it works for me.
