I own both rifles and both "styles" of clips.
Are the clips exactly the same, even though they are listed with separate order numbers? I cannot tell the difference but wonder what I am missing.

They are interchangable but not identical. One is flat on the bottom and one is slightly rounded IIRC. I never can remember which is which and don't even try.

I've got a small pile of them, to go along with a couple rifles (as well as a few more that have moved on but left extra mags behind).
Never even thought about trying to tell the difference.

Piper is correct. They interchange, but the 77 one is flat-bottomed and the 10/22 is slightly rounded.
BTW, a guy sold a 10/22 to the gun store once, and included a pair of 77 magazines that he had epoxied together bottom to bottom. It made for a super slick way to reload in a hurry: pop out, flip, pop in. You really can't do that with the rounded 10/22 magazines without a filler of some kind.

That is a pretty cool idea Rocky. Only problem I got with it that I hate a mag hanging below the stock.

That was my first thought, as well. Worse, it's right at the gun's balance point, usually. I wouldn't do it for my own gun, but thought I'd pass it along in case it lit somebody's fuse...

Someone made a hard rubber piece that clipped two together as Rocky described. I bought one and used it once. I still have it somewhere. IIRC you were supposed to glue them in. I'll see if I can find who made them. Not the one I have but similar: http://www.rudefatdog.com/10_22.htmlPiper

Thanks guys. I'll have to look at the bottoms and see how they stack up.

The 77/22 has a flat bottom and the 10/22 is rounded. All of mine work in either rifle.
