I read alot of articles on Savage rifle on how acturate they are and well built. I was looking at the Model 12 varmint in a 300 WSM. Just seeing if anybody had one and what they think of it.

Thanks Clint

I have a model 12 in .22-250 and I love the rifle. I have no complaints at all. The recoil might be a little stiff in .300 WSM without a good recoil pad. Then again, the rifle weighs 10lbs, so maybe it'll be just fine smile

Ain't ever seen one that didn't shoot. That said, welcome to the campfire Chilly.

I like Savage 110 series bolt guns OK, but a varmint weight 300 WSM sounds like a heavy lot to tote very far. Good for hunting from a blind or a stand, but probably not the ticket for a stalking rifle.

You don't really say what your going to use it for. I'll second Jeff's notion that it will be pretty heavy for any big game hunting but stand hunting unless you're a larg man in really good shape. I don't like the accutrigger for most big game hunting either as the trigger can lock up on you and the bolt will need to be lifted to cock it again. They're accurate out of the box though.
