The 50AK is by no means a long range gun.
It will though, poke a hole clean through just about any animal you want at 50yds or less with the right load.
Who have you picked to do the conversion?
I have seen a Reg Noneman conversion and I own 2 WWG conversions. I can't speak of any others.
A 'smith knowlegable in 50AK conversions will take care of the twist rate and feeding issues.

I have seen one conversion by Doug Turnbull. This is one caliber I wish Marlin would come out with. Instead they keep making more varients that all just about the same <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />

The only real improvement you can get out of it is going to a
50 Alaskan in a Marlin G
There in it self is a bigger story i found one gunsmith willing
to over bore to 50 cal that wont take a year to do it

Here's his reply to my email..
Martin, cost of a rebore/rechamber is usually $265 plus return freight. At this time I don't have the 50 alaskan chambering reamer. I could still bump up the barrel if you have someone that has the reamer.

If anyone once it done theres the spot
