He will be playing the part of the trumpeter swan in The Trumpet of the Swan: A Novel Symphony.http://www.kennedy-center.org/calendar/index.cfm?fuseaction=showEvent&event=KJTBBI'm so tickled. He is a wonderful young man and an incredible trupeter. As a high school junior, he placed second in the National Trumpet Contest (NTC) and as a HS senior he won first. He is a graduate of Julliard School of Music. He is Chris V. in that link.

One of my minor claims to dubious fame is that I once performed at Kennedy Center.
In truth, it wasn't that glamorous. I was in a group of tourists, and the guide made some comment about yodeling and asked if anybody in the crowd could. I stood, did so, and was applauded (with more politeness than enthusiasm). But I can without contradiction say I performed before a crowd at Kennedy Center!
Your nephew, however, deserves the acclaim.

Mike, That ROCKS! Wonder how that little tidbit slipped away from our last conversation? Simply...WOW! There are very few things about the "outside" I miss...things like that are one of them. As a trumpet player (that would be not be allowed to play in a North Road pub  ,) I can none-the-less appreciate the work, dedication, and talent that ended your nephew up there. It really does ROCK!
