ive had this scope on a 223 for years and love it. the gun a savage 10fp is being rebarreled to 308. i understand this is a varmint scope but i love the crosshairs, magnification, and its great on the range 100-300 yards. will it hold up to the heavier caliber?

I`ve got an old one with tapered cross hairs. The black gloss finish is now turning plum color from age. I`ve used this scope for load work up, on all my rifles. from .223 to .375. It had an extensive workout on my .300RUM on the bench. It hasn`t puked yet!

Ditto - bought a used M8 12X about 1992 or so. Mine had target turrets as I wanted it for a silhouette scope, but ended up using it as a test scope for load development.
It's been on all kinds of rifles, including several .30-06's, a 7mm Rem. Mag., .243, even a Winchester Model 94 .30-30 - that drew some looks at the range <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />. It's still going strong.
Gunnery, gunnery, gunnery. Hit the target, all else is twaddle!
