A friend of mine stated he picked up a Winchester model 92 in 25-20 caliber. He stated it is in 70& percent condition. Action smooth and functional. Anyone know what the value of such a 92 is worth?

I haven't seen it, but he described it as a 20 inch octogon barrel.

If it is a 20" octagon barrel from the factory, it's a Texas special and has collector value. Hope jbledsoe, or another collector will chime in! Virgil B.

Just a common '92 in all-original 70% condition will be worth well over $1000, maybe close to $2000. As to the "Texas Special" aspect or other special pieces, I've got the book, but I don't got it memorized, so somebody else will have to say. If its been refinished or the barrel has been cut it depends on how good the refinish is. 70% after a refinish is probably still going to be worth $800 in today's market. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=120475508
