...anyone know why premium euro spotting scopes generally cost less than premium euro rifle scopes?...even within the same brand?...

...seems to me spotting scopes should be more expensive...or is this merely a 'milking-the-market' issue, given the wider applications for spotting scopes?...

I don't know where you got your info. A Swarovski spotting scope will cost about 2x the price of one of their scopes.

Spotting scopes list prices are $1500++(with an eyepiece) for a good one. Most of the good scopes are less than that unless they are illuminated.

Don't confuse Conquest scopes with top-of-the line scopes.
