Bob--
I started a different thread that is the photo essay I offered. Let me know if it answers your questions (or makes the choice harder.)

Fits me like glove as well. Pre 64fwt.270,Mickey pre 64 Monte Carlo(not EDGE) Talleys, Leupie. 8 1/4 empty. Brought the bacon home on the campfire pig hunt. There are items that we all cherish and "know like the back of our hands" This is a good example. Fifty-one years with this rifle.

Agreed, that's a beauty. Something about those Pre-64s just makes me smile.

To whoever knows: Is this Edge a "drop-in" stock? I'd hate to have to send a pre'64 Fwt. someplace. Thanks in advance.

I would be shocked if they did not have the program for what you want. However, nothing beats them do a full install. People that do the same kind of job day in and day out our pretty hard to beat when it comes to doing that kind of work.

I have a factory pre-64 Featherweight barreled action. My order is as follows:
Inlet: Factory pre-64 Featherweight Bottom metal: Factory pre-64 Featherweight Barrel channel: Factory pre-64 Featherweight
You bet your barrel channel it's going to be drop in. They've done a million of them.

BW, my pre 64 fwt did drop in as the inletting was done rather well. I did bed the action/recoil lug but the barrel floated perfectly. Thanks Brad, tis a nice setup indeed.
