A good friend was in that position of needing nothing. He flat out told his kids to not give him anything but Winchester 12 ga. AA Trap Loads, Christmas, Father's Day, birthday, etc. After a while he got to where he quit reloading and just shot new ammo all the time.

You might be alright after all... Hey, who doesn't love a good explosion now and again? A completely legal binary explosive that's affordable and goes off when hit with a bullet. What's not to like?

The newest Leatherman multi-tool that I wrote about a couple of weeks ago is really the best-of-breed.
Even if he has several Leathermans, the Skeletool CX is great.
Amazon has an excellent price. If there is a few bucks left over, buy him a full set of bits (torx, Phillips, slotted, etc)
Love mine.

If one has truly found a sportsman with everything, I'd like to meet him/her. I've never heard of such a thing. I'll admitt to be close, but I still appreciate duplicates of damned near anything. Never regretted having a spare. 1Minute

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I believe we have a winner with the Thermacell. I've been wondering whether or not they really work (I've been told that they do) and I'll sacrifice him first to see if he can survive our eastern N.C. swamp skeeters.

Get him several boxes of cartridges, for which he doesn't have a rifle!

Get him several boxes of cartridges, for which he doesn't have a rifle! Brilliant! If anyone is wondering what to get me for Christmas, I'd take a few boxes of .204 Ruger. Steve

Get him several boxes of cartridges, for which he doesn't have a rifle! Excellent. Then he needs a new rifle, a new scope, new dies, new everything!!!! I love this idea. Heck, most of us have found a hundred bullets (of a totally strange type) and had a new custom rifle built. It's all about want, not need. That's why we're called LOONIES. Merry Christmas everyone, Steve

I'll bet he doesn't have a game-scout monkey!
In Zim, they had two monkeys that would ride around with clients. They were pretty good at spotting game at distances much farther than even the human game scouts.
One was 29 years old, amazing for a monkey.

holy chit there is something I don't have that I truly need. I'd score some without it, but I've got boys 10 and 15, how they s'posed to go thru life w/out blowing some of that chit up. I can see it now, milk jugs filled with water, two cases of tannerlite, two .223's and enough grins to kill every bear in Davy Crockett country! my boys are gonna thank you Derek and so do I, didn't realize there was anything I needed that I didn't have! now I do

You're welcome! I've been meaning to try the stuff myself, but never got around to it. I've seen videos of everything from milk jugs to a Geo Metro blown up with it. Seems like a ton of fun.
My outdoor range really isn't the greatest place to try it out, either...:(

Merry Christmas everyone, Steve I was given 223 ammo and a couple of 30 round mags a couple of years before I got an AR. Now I need to get me a couple of boxes of 9.3x62 ammo.

One was 29 years old, amazing for a monkey. When I was a kid a friend had a monkey for a brief period of time,..onery critter. If he wasn't chasing the chickens he was spankin' his bobo. It all played out when the monkey bit his grandfather on the ear while he was laying on the floor working on the refridgerator one afternoon. "Pa" was all for shootin' it after that,...but much wailing from the kids in the family got him to agree to let it live long enough for them to pass it on to some other unsuspecting soul. All in all,...I don't think I'd want a monkey for a hunting partner.

The ones they had were pretty sketchy...They hadn't had much human contact in awhile because the previous ranch manager had neglected them. We didn't take them out of their outdoor cage-houses, just fed them some veggies.
I've heard monkeys are nutso as pets...

Well, here's an idea, but I think it busts your $50.00 limit. A robot girlfriend: Canadian Man Builds Himself Robot Girlfriend
Friday , December 12, 2008
A Canadian man, apparently unable to find the perfect woman, has done the next best thing he's built himself one.
Le Trung, a 33-year-old software engineer who lives with his parents in Brampton, Ontario, a suburb of Toronto, says he's spent about $20,000 so far on Aiko, a 5-foot-tall female android with clear skin, a slim if shapely figure and a wonderful disposition.
"She can recognize faces, she can identify medication, she can even butter your toast," Le Trung tells the Toronto Globe and Mail.
Not only that, but Aiko speaks in both English and, for some reason, Japanese. (Le Trung has a Vietnamese name.) She can also read.
"Aiko is what happens when science meets beauty," Le Trung tells the Sun of London. "Aiko doesn't need holidays, food or rest, and will work almost 24 hours a day. She is the perfect woman."
She still can't walk, however. That will take a lot more work and, Le Trung tells the Globe and Mail, a new round of funding. He hopes to create and sell more pretty female robots in the future.
But, ahem, is there more than just companionship involved?
"Aiko is still a virgin, AND NO I do not sleep with her," he writes on the Project Aiko Web site, though he admits that she "has sensors in her body including her private parts, and yes even down there." Link to original story
