New in box. No handling marks. Came from Caywood, went into safe. Flint has yet to strike the frizzen. Serious elk medicine for a traditionalist. 320gr round ball propelled by 120-130gr Goex. 30 modern barrel steel from Ed Rayl, if I recall correctly. The stock is quite straight for excellent recoil behavior. Weighs 6 1/2 lbs. 14 1/8 LOP. Sterling thumb piece. Period sling swivels. Iron hardware. Caywood charges $1,695 (for standard wood) with a 2-3 month wait. The wood on this rifle was upgraded to the best blank Caywood felt he had in stock. I believe I paid a several hundred dollar upcharge beyond Dannys list pricebut wow, it looks good. Shipped in box. Offered at $1,350. Additional photos available.

Fixed pic link bump. Beautiful rifle!

Sure smoothbore. Send me your e-mail address. The files are a bit large, but the detail is vivid.

Please send photos. Danny and his Dad build some of the nicest smokepoles around. I shot with them and Zoe, Danny's Mom for years around the 70's and 80's. I have some of Danny's schrimshaw work on some things. I had one of his Dad's rifles for a while but traded it for a late 1500's English Flintlock Snaphaunce in 72 Cal.

Yes, rifled.

Also, Caywood builds this rifle for an interchangeable barrel system. A 12ga smoothbore can be ordered.

Sights: brass front blade and brass rear notch. I argued with builder Danny Caywood about the rear, thinking that the relief (contrast) of a blued rear against the brass blade front would be better. Danny assured me that out in the woods where it is often dark that the brass rear would catch much better light. Glad I listened to him. The sights quick and very bright.

Additional pics will be sent by e-mail in a minute. They are high res. You can zoom up the size many times and the resolution stays clear.

I sure did. Thanks for checking back.

Some guys are getting them, some aren't. It's a file size problem. Your e-mail host may have restricted the file size you can access. Comcast does this. For some guys I have sent pics to their work e-mail instead. So far, this has always cured the problem. Do you have another e-mail address that might work?
