I looking for a 50 or 90 for my son and my question is should I spend the money on a Artic Cat, Polaris, Yamaha or buy one of those cheap off-brand atv's?

I bought a Polaris Sportsman 90 for my 10 year old daughter and it works VERY WELL for her application! It does well on the flats, it does well on beginner and intermediate trails, it has a fairly long/wide wheelbase for stability, and it has an adjustable throttle governor. I am thrilled with the outcome. As to the cheap Chinese crap, you get what you pay for! I know several people that have them. When they run, they do well. ON the flip side, weird stuff happens and breaks them down. Some of the big name shops will work on them, some will not. I was concerned about buying a new namebrand machine that will be outgrown in a couple of years. Than I looked online and saw what I could sell it for at that time. Very good resale value on the Sportsman 90.
