Sicero, I understand your sentiments ... confidence is the name of the game when you have a bow in your hand ... and if your not confident in your equipment ... might as well just stay outta the woods. I'm from the other school, started with a Golden Eagle compound ... and went to the longbow. Can't ever see going back. Its been a couple years since I have shot my bow (since I left PA) ... I think my apartment complex would frown on my practicing out in the courtyard (& I'm sure the College Station police wouldn't be thrilled either). Used to shoot inside the house I rented in PA (12 yards from front door to kitchen!) and belonged to an archery club ... so I got lots and lots of practice.
Its starting to get warm ... I always get the itch in the spring time! Esp. after a winter of building arrows

Congrats on the SuperTec. It's a great bow. The Hoyts are pretty popular around here. I haven't had any timing issues and haven't heard of any except in magazines and such. As for broadheads, I can give a big thumbs up to the Snyper after last season.

I have the mathews sq2 - love it, very fast and quiet, I have had no problems other than gatting my arrows out of my target. I have one of those compressed foam targets - 25 yards the arrows bury themselves up to the fletching. My brother uses it now - needless to say he was impressed- unfortunatly no blood yet.

56" two piece takedown flat bow by Jack Kempf, 57#@27'. Fast flight string. Cedars and Swickeys (deltas), and good ol' Judo heads.
Used to make my own arrows, but enjoy shooting others as well, Rueben Rickards' and Kelly Petersens' arrows , mostly.
I run heavier arrows than some about 10-12 grains per lb. of bow weight. I have owned a mess of bows over the years, shot Bears, Fedoras, Martens, all sticks, and have owned 12 of Jack's bows. I now have the one that I will never replace!
scopes are cool, but slings 'n' irons RULE!
