A new year has rolled in again! Lets see who is still around. This gives the new guy a chance to tell use who you are and what you are interested in. And lets hear from you members that seldom post. For the regulars you just earn more points toward that next level on the posters ladder. If you are not a memeber sign up, it's easy, free and we would like to meet you. Everyone, sign in, please! I'll let it run for a while so we can see how many of us are using the site. Please, only post one time! Lets keep it just for sign in not for conversation.

I'll start it off. I've been here so long its hard to remember when I was not on the 24 or the earlier Gun&Knife board. There are a lot of great members now that can answer the questions as good or better than I can. I would really like to thank you guys for keeping the Savage site going. I think the site has held up well over the years with few problems. Can't say that about some of the others I have been on. A big "Thanks!" to Rick Bin for putting the site here for us to use. Who's next? Hey Bert, you got a post in before I finished...A Happy New Year to you also and all the others.

Still here even though I do not post much. I found it easier to learn more if I keep my mouth shut. BP...

Hi:
I've been involved with this board for a few years & enjoy it very much. I'm not really a Savage collector in the true sense, but I do collect Savage rifles...seems mine are mostly "rescue" guns. I do have some really nice ones, but there's lots of room for upgrading. I enjoy improving a rifle to the best condition I can make it. In my case, I guess there's condition and re-condition. Even at my level, there's a lot of $$ involved.
I don't get all wound up in the minutiae that often gets discussed, but sometimes it's interesting, and my keyboard has ways to choose what gets read and what doesn't.

RHee-porting as ordered, Suh! Mainly a lurker here, but chime in whenever inappropriate.
New Year's wish: That a couple of 3 or 4 of you seasoned experts compare notes, then cut a deal with Mrs Murray (or estate) and update THE book with more complete serial number data, model configurations, etc. Most assuredly a brisk seller. Where do I send funds for my order?

Im here, almost 3 years. Dont post too much as Im a better listener than talker. Besides when I first signed on here a wise man here once told me If ya gonna post make it mean sumpen (Or something to that effect) I do blame this site for costing me money! In 06 I had my Uncles 99. My knowledge consisted of I knew it was a Savage. Since then I have added another EG and a few Fs and love shooting every one of them. Not a collector never will be. Those who share their extensive knowledge here show its more than a hobby, or for some a business, its a passion. I tip my hat and greatly respect that. Life keeps me busy but I hope to check in more in 09 than I did in 08. Thanks for a great site! Harry M.

All said, the Savage 99 is a genius of a rifle. Although no longer produced, it remains highly revered, as it was the foundation from which Arthur Savage built one of America's great gun companies. >> (Jon Y. Wolfe) <<

Happy New Year, it's been a little over a year for me here at the Fire. I've learned a lot of information but most of all have talked to a lot of great knowledgable guys. Here's to a happy, prosperous and safe 09'.

Happy New Year to Everyone. GREAT SITE I spend too much time on the 99 Collectors, but I love every minute of it. I have learned more about Savages than I ever thought existed and it has lighten my wallet a few times. Have several and keep trying to upgrade- I need a T - anyone? Mike

If ya gonna post make it mean sumpen (Or something to that effect) Words I should listen to. I'm just not the intellectual type. Not much of a collector, or historian. Just a bottom feeder in the truest sense of the word. Been around for about 5 years now and have met some of the best people I could ever hope to meet. Been to both fests and also, one at least 3 of us call, a "mini-fest." My Savages are all shooters/hunters, with the exception of a couple. One thing I DO share with 99% of you folks is my true love for the Savage rifle. Thanks for having me and putting up with me. Happy New Year!!!!!
