Thanks Gone Huntin,
But I had a Browning 338 Stainless Stalker that I couldn't get to shoot. My wife has the same rifle in 270 that shoots tiny groups with everything we put in it.

No problem. This gun DOES shoot. Groups in the 3/4 inch range are common.

Obviously you needed to have your wife shoot it in order to get those tiny groups.. Thanks Gone Huntin,

I've got a stainless/synthetic Savage if an inexpensive entry level option floats your boat.

I did, and it didn't group for her either. When she can't get a rifle to group, you know it's the rifle!!

Utah,
Now I'm really feeling picky, but I was hoping for something along the lines of the manufacturers I listed. There's nothing wrong with Savage or Browning, but I just have something different in mind. Thank you for the offer.

Thanks. What's your price range? I've got a custom LH 338 Model 70 that I had Mark Penrod build that shoots 3/4" groups @ 100 yards easily. Proven African rifle too

I have a LH Rem BDL 338 Win with a custom muzzle-break machined and installed by Dennis Olson in Plains, Montana. I bought the gun new to take to AK ....took it there....stayed in a camp with some unsavory characters who killed and killed and killed ....turned me off completely....so I just hiked and watched the caribou and found fossils and an ancient camp-site with stone tools and slept on the crest of a ridge in the sun, with incredible and unforgettable beauty spread out all around below me....and caught grayling and char....and walked beside a gigantic moose about 25 feet from me....and loved it all. I left the camp early and came home. I brought the 338 home with me, and it has sat in the safe for the past 5 years. It behaved badly with my handloads....but was a 1-holer with factory ammo (I have the boxes somewhere here). Anyhooooooooooo..........I have no need of it.....since acquired a 30 Gibbs, 300 RUM, 9,3x74R, others. Talk to me if you want to talk to me. Best wishes, Alex in Gainesville, FL
