Hi
I'm after a set of quality mounts for my Sauer 202 which is fitted with a Picatinny type rail. I've tried the Leupold QRW Low rings but they are still too high for the 2.5-8x36 VX-III that I am using.
Can anyone recommend a set of quality mounts to suit this setup that is lower than the Leupolds?
Thanks
Ian

Weaver low rings are about as low as they go. No one likes them, but they are bullstrong and lightweight. I should say, no one but ME likes them. Once you get everything right, though, it stays that way.

Thanks for the info, they are definitely low enough for my application. Not what I would call stylish but they would do the job.
Any other options out there?

You may check out the Burris Z rings; they do offer a size "low" in their line, but it may not be low enough for your requirements. http://www.burrisoptics.com/rings1.html#2 I just installed a pair of Weaver Grand Slam, windage adjustable steel rings on a traditional Weaver slotted aluminum base on one of my rifles. Unfortunately for your stated purpose that style of ring is only offered in a Medium (and up, no low in that line). Odessa
