i shot 4 deer with my triumph this season .all with the 295pb hp and 100grns of shockeys gold
the first was at 112yds broadside behind the shoulder, deer went maybe 30yds.he had a exit wound the second was at 146yds der was chasing a doe down a steep bank,i was shooting down at him.he had his head down i hit him high neck ,near the spine . he never took a step.no exit wound the third was a broadside shot in a open field at 130yds. deer spun and ran 30-40yds before dropping.hit him dead on the shoulder blade, broke both shoulders but no exit. the forth was standing in a scrape at 60yds,hit him behind the shoulder.he went 25 steps maybe. he had a exit wound.
i am big on checking my distances before and after kills.

all with the 295pb hp and 100grns of shockeys gold How long have you been involved in the hobby? why,i'm 51 and have been ml hunting for 20yrs or so.started using powerbelts when they first came out. there are 6 of us that hunt together all the time. we all use the same bullets. we've only killed somewhere around 175-200 deer with these bullets. its pretty obvious you don't like pb's but thats not going to stop the rest of us from using them when we know they work. here's 2 of my bucks from this season [img][/img] [img][/img]

speakup swampy!!!!!!!!! Sometimes one of those bullet fragments hits something vital. I just figure when a person picks that powder/bullet combo that they've been using a muzzleloader a very short period of time.
