Hi there. Its been "many blizzards" since I was last at this fine old site. I've been quite busy of late, much more then I like, but bills got to be paid.
Just to bring you folks up to date, my last rifle is a custom job, built by IT&D Custom Gun. Based around a VZ-24 Mauser action, it's chambered in 8x57, with a "scout rifle" scope base on the barrel (due to my medical condition with my neck/spine I can't use scopes set over the action any more).
I also purchased a Ruger Bisley Hunter revolver, in 44 Mag (dang E4E, they don't offer a 45LC!). I've yet to purchase a scope for it, but this will come soon (I've got another that I can "make do").
Come June 7 I'm bolting on the ball-and-chain "til death do us part". Been with Beatrice for roughly eleven years now, with two little girls. She's planning the whole thing, I just open my wallet and say "yes dear".
The past six months my two nephews and I having been very interested in R/C airplanes. Adam and I both bought trainers (This is where my "scope money" went. .
My plane hasn't come in yet though.
Also, I bought a lot of stuff to build planes too.
Any R/Cer's here? I'd like to hear about this stuff. This is the latest phase of my life.
Oh, well, enough banter. Catch you folks later. ~~~Suluuq

Yeah man, Tex and now you have surfaced. Good to see you up and about. Congrats on making and honest woman out of your Lady.

Only RC airplane I ever flew went through the front window of the house and I gave it up.

Lee, Boggy, Buster...
Thanks. I intend to make the best husband that I possibly can. After "playing house" for ten years maybe I must of learned something close to it. I think. But don't hold it against me if I still whistle at Jennifer Love Hewitt.
Day number two on the Campfire. Tomorrow is race day (snow machines) up here, and I got a brother signed up. We're hoping he does well.
I've been teaching my two nephews how to carve ivory, since last summer. Adam is taking a real liking to it, and showing some talent. Today I helped him make a hunter/polar bear/seal combo, which the hunter and bear are fighting, harpoon-to-claws, over the seal. We have a craft sale tomorrow, so we made more stuff to take. I'd say the little guys, grades 5&6, each made roughly $400-$500 each since summer, with Adam making a little more then Nic.
So how has everyone been? Did I miss out on any thing? Whats the latest story? ~~~Suluuq

Great to hear from you! Congrats on the hitch'n and I wish all of you many happy years together (of course the kids can move when they're ready ). It sounds like you have been keeping quite busy.

Rusty, we gotta have a serious talk about this "till death do us part thing." Go buy all the toys now before you get hitched, exlain it away as your "one last vestige of bachelorhood," and you'll pull it off. As for the snowmobile races, God I hope you're not running those damned Artic Cats, as I'd hate to see your back with Polaris track scars on it! 'Best of wishes with your exit from bachelorhood. Welcome back to the forum.

He guys... thanks for the info, and yes I did notice MarlinTalk quit on us, and the lever action addition here. That pic of JLH looking plump is hilarious! I hope she never gets to looking like that, then all my fantasies will cease to exist!
As to the races... my brother anc cousin both entered. Cousin Ed took seventh, considering he took off near the end of the line. He had a near miss with a tree, but hit it with his elbow! My brother wiped-out and hurt his back, but did manage to finish.
As to buying all the things before the day-of-lost-freedom, I have a deal with her, and it goes like this. She can buy whatever she wants, and I'll do the same. In fact, I encourage her to buy things. Oh, well, life goes on.
My nephew ordered a new R/C plane, sporting a four channel radio, upping the ante of the three-channel system I ordered. We're building planes using pink styrofoam boards, and making a decent job of it. Afterall, it's only carving, if you think about it. The design is simular to a Cessna (actually, more like a Islander, but with one motor in the nose).
We're using styrofoam because it's easy to repair, just glue and tape.
Anyone going after bears this spring? ~~~Suluuq
