Any of you guys use this powderless ammo? I am looking for something quiet to use in my back yard to run off coons etc. I have tried CB shorts but they are a little louder than I want to be shooting in town.

I know the warning says that these are only for use in handguns as they can lodge in a rifle barrel, but surely someone has tested this theory grin

Will they work fine in an 18" barrel or will I stick them?

Thanks
Dennis

I shoot them outta the win 62-a with a 22 inch barrel all the time. They are louder than the std colibri's, but still quieter than a cb short. Work great on collared doves, rabbits, but lack power for coons. They will run them off tho..........

Problems will depend on the gun. They seem fine in some of my 22 rifles but will stick in the barrel of others so I have gone completely to CCI CB's.
In a longer barrel the CCI's seem as quiet and have more power than Aquila's.

Only real answer to your question is to shoot some and see if they will or won't work in your gun. It is not hard to drive a stuck one out with wooden dowel.

I shoot them out of Rossi 62 copy with a 16 inch barrel with no problems, but I've also shot them in a Ruger 77/22 just to see. Worked OK

700LH has it right. The CBs are just as quiet, more accurate and IIRC cheaper to boot

Well I hope the CBs aren't 'just as quiet' because they aren't quiet enough. I intend to shoot them out of my 10-22 with an 18" barrel- I know it won't cycle the action, but it is the shorted barrel 22 I have-I think.

I will try them and see I guess.

They are in fact considerably quieter than CBs. I did notice, that from my 16" barrel they shoot quite nicely, but from my CZ, with its full-length barrel, they are probably down to 250-300 fps when they leave the barrel.

A short barrel is much better than a regular one. They will not feed from a 10-22 mag and are a real pain to load. That gun is out.

So far I haven't made any holes in the wall with them but I did make a couple with the CBs frown
