Could someone tell me who the best pitcher in pro baseball is now? I don't follow the sport, but I need to make a comparison between throwing arms.

My man up in SF won the NL CY Young this year. He was lights out most of the year. What do you mean "compare arms"?

So you'd say Tim Lincecum then?

I would fill that in with Tommy John the pitcher for the Yankees back in the 70's for who the surgery wad named after. Tommy John surgery is done on a few major league pitchers every year.

As far as Tim Lincecum he was tough this last few seasons but some can make arguments. The cy young award is given to the pitcher in both leagues deemed to be the best a given year

I can't blame you Mannlicher, every time Florida finds a winning team, they hold a fire sale and sell it off.

Johan Santana - NY Mets

190 wins vs. 51 losses (0.788 win average).

Career average 9.3 strikeouts per 9-innings pitched.

ERA of 2.82 over last 5-years.

The first 7 of his 8 years in the league Santana pitched for the MN Twins - the Metrodome is a hitters park. Last year with the Mets his ERA was 2.53.

The real question is "Does anyone care who the best pitcher is?"
Sorry about the attitude; but I live a short drive from Cooperstown and like most in the area have to deal with many obnoxious tourists. So my feeling is baseball sucks; and lots of folks here agree. Wouldn't care if they moved the Hall of fame to Hoboken.

I love baseball. No doubt a large part of that is due to the Twins always being a first class organization. We are spared much of drama most teams suffer. Our guys just play good ball and we get to watch.

I predict Cole Hamels will win a Cy Young in the near future.

Your right, I liked that '87 team, liked the coach, but man that stadium was a joke.

The Metrodome is an atrocity, but fortunately one with a limited lifespan.

I use to love baseball until free agency, shady sports agents and strikes ruined the game.

I hear ya, but while the Twins lose a lot of players to Big Money, their farm system keeps developing players and the team competes.

Makes no sense to me to not have a retractable roof. How would you like to have a team of little leaguers bussing down to the game from Bemidji only to find it rained out?
