I can live with the key, but what's with the vents? Vents, vents, everything has vents nowadays. Stop with the vents already.

Sorry, I had to...

I seriously have not owned nor expect to own a Smith (or other gun for that matter) with key hole, so if they ever want my dollars, they need to lose it.

Meanwhile my dollars go for guns w/o. Smith, you listening?

Not holding my breath.

I like the idea of the gun, BUT its WAYYYY overpriced at that number. The ruger can be had for about $450.

Duplicates a good .32-20 load. Flat shooting, extra round in the cylinder... would be a great trail gun.

Yep, no new Smith's will holes and doo-dads for me. Especially at that price, geez S&W, many of us aren't buying the zit faced guns as is, then you tack a price tag on it like that? I'll pay about half that for a nice clean old S&W with the firing pin on the hammer, no MIM, and no damned lock and zit in the side plate.

Ruger could have a real hit with a Bisley version Single Six in .327 Maggie with 4 5/8" and 5 1/2" barrel lengths. IMHO that'd be a cool little gun.

I hear Freedom Arms is doing .327s now and when the time comes that is probably the route I will go.

Thanks, TD. Very interesting gun. I've got a Smith M60, 3 inch that is very similar, but in .357.
While I tend to go for matte black finishes, I don't see where the porting comes in. Still, for the recoil shy, it might be worth something. I know my .357 kicks pretty good even with my kinda watered down factory equivalent, lead loads. A new shooter may well appreciate the porting. E

Hello Ryan
There is a world of difference and no Comparision between the 32-20 and the new Federal .327 Magnum. If shot from a revolver the classic 32-20 is on even Keel with what the Older standard .38 Special velocities were as shown below. As you can see the New Federal .327 Magnum is a stronger continuation of the unpopular down Played .32 H&R Magnum... Thegeneral.

SHOOTING THE .32-20 S&W M&P with a 3-1/4" Barrel
FACTORY LOAD VELOCITY (fps) 15-YARD ACCURACY (inches)

Winchester Super-X 100-gr. FPS 757 Average Group Size 3.10"

Black Hills 115-gr. FPS 727 Average Group Size 3.50"

The Federal .327 Magnum Velocities

The ammunition will be available in three loads:

 PD327HS1 H: Federal Premium 85-gr Hydra-Shok JHP

(1330 fps muzzle velocity in 3-1/16 barrel) AE327:

American Eagle 100-gr SP

(1400 fps muzzle velocity in 3-1/16 barrel)

 23914 : Speer 115-gr Gold Dot HP

(1300 fps muzzle velocity in 3-1/16 barrel)

Dr Phil says venting is good. Least that's what the wife says.

I don't like them either. Particularly in a carry gun.
