Should Junior Bush seek another term?

It?s obvious listening to chatter Junior Bush does not have a prayer being reelected for his second term. Considering the Republicans national convention is right around the corner, shouldn?t Junior Bush be a true patriots like president Richard Nixon, LBJ and put his country first by announcing he will not seek another term?

"History According to Larry" strikes again.

Nixon was elected to a second term. In case you didn't know, that's the limit. Nixon resigned in 1974.

I guess I missed the part where Nixon announced he wouldn't be seeking a third term.

"Nixon was elected to a second term. In case you didn't know, that's the limit. Nixon resigned in 1974."

During my lifetime the only three presidents that did not complete or run for their second term was JFK,LBJ and president Richard Nixon that resigned in disgraces over Watergate. All others like Gerald Ford first term, Jimmy Carter, senior Bush ran for their second terms and they all lost.

Lyndon B. Johnson and Richard Nixon both put the country first over their personal agendas. Johnson did not run for his second term knowing he did not have public support and Nixon resigned before being impeach. They were both true patriots.

Just one more case of larry not having a clue what he is talking about. Nixon was elected in 1968 and 1972 and resigned in 1974. miles

Larry,

Your history knowlege is grim, dude.

LBJ was inept at commander-in-chief, and made matters worse by micro-managing and politicizing the Vietnam war to an unprecedented level of incompetence. He knew he would get his azz kicked in '68 and found himself a hole to crawl into.

Although, it seems to figure that LBJ would be a hero of yours.

I seem to remember Ronald Reagan winning and serving out his second term. I also seem to remember Bill Clinton winning a second term and serving out his second term. LBJ didnt seek a second term because he realized his gross mistake in Vietnam. I also remember Nixon finally getting us out of Vietnam.

I am also really enjoying the growth I am again getting out of my 401K program under Bush JR. I also remember how my 401 K went into the toilet under the Bill Clinton administration.
If money talks, then I am forced to vote for Bush Jr. Oh darn it anyway.

(and by the way, do you remember that the economy finally began improving under Bush SR?, Do you remember how Bush Sr payed dearly with his read my lips, no new taxes, and under pressure from your Democrats, he gave in to them which was supposed to be under good faith, and you democrats crucified Bush SR for "going along with your tax increase"????? Do you remember that, or are you just another little political pawn of the democratic party? Ever noticed it is always you democrats that want to tax Americans to death? And here is a clue, when you define rich Americans, do your homework, most of us are hard working Americans, middle class, and yet, you seem hell bent on reducing our quality of life, to support people who never wanted to work anyway, and simply have their hand out)

What part did I have wrong ? LBJ was inserted as commander-in-chief because JFK was assassinated and finished out that term. Then was qualified to run for two more consecutive terms. The fact the matter is those responsible for the Vietnam screw up, was the people that originally put JFK in office. One of the biggest fears back in JFK's run for president by the religious conservatives was having a Catholic for president. In 2020 hindsight they were justified in their fears because it became reality in Vietnam and many years that followed.

Yeah, the economy was really bad under Clinton. I really hated it when I came home and saw my 401k had only increased $500 a day. I'll take the 20 grand I lost during the Bush years anytime.

I'll make you wager it is not Junior Bush! Anyone that been following what's going on already know diehard conservatives will not support this guy anymore over basic fundamentals differences. The chatter is so bad in my opinion they'll force them not to run again knowing the country as a whole is going to set a mandate against him. The only prayer true conservatives have is to force his hand over the next several months. The fact is its already starting to happen. He only won the last election by the seat of his pants because everyone was fed up with any parts of the Clinton Administration including Al Gore. For some reason Junior Bush is under the illusion or impression there's some kind of love affair with his beloved Bush family and facts are no one could give a rats ass about them.

Bush will win and I'm glad.

And all,
"Bush will win and I'm glad." Jr. Boy does not had a prayer of winning another term and the sooner you guys take your heads out of your ass the better off conservatives will be. Some of us only support this idiot in the first place because of who agreed to become Secretary of State, that alone was his meal ticket. What is really the problem now is some of you idiots think it's about the economy stupid. Are the fact no ones getting blow jobs in the White House anymore, instead GI's are starting to go home in body bags. and for those of you that does not think this is not another Vietnam, my response this ass hole only goes to prove my point.

Howdy Larry

Perhaps you have posed a rhetorical question or, maybe, you are simply trolling with homemade bait. But, hey, I'll bite.

For the first time in decades America has a true leader as President that has seen the evils of radical Islamic powers and has taken definitive steps to protect all of us. He has shown his managerial skills in selecting an intelligent and diverse Cabinet and the most effect NSA since the position was created. He has taken the measures domestically that will lead to greater prosperity for all of us. And he has had the courage to do this while paths of less resistence and controversy were available. He is no short term President fixated on the poll of the day.

Not only will he trounce Kerry, a candidate with a paucity of achievement, his victory in the coming election will reinforce those in America that still believe in its core values, the Constitution with emphasis on the 2nd Ammendment and are proud to say "In God We Trust". Me? I feel honored to be able to work 15 to 20 hours a week on behalf of his re-election. America could have no finer leader at this time in history.

Handloader- I'll go along with that. Bush has certainly been put to the test during his term. Course some are blind to that and you're pissing in the wind trying to show them other wise.

Hey Larry

You seem to be obsessed with President Bush and of the opinion that the Republicans will dump him before the election. While that sentiment indicates that you may be out of synch with power politics, it does raise an interesting question regarding the Democratic candidate, John Kerry.

Larry, do you believe he is the best candidate for President? If so, can you elaborate for our collective benefit your reasoning? Or, is there someone else out there that commands your respect enough to support? Someone that reflects your values and beliefs? There are those in the Democratic party that are having serious doubts about Kerry's ability to garner something other than an embarassingly small percentage of the vote. They have reason for their concerns. Or, perhaps, all this works to the advantage of Hillary's run for 2008? Whatcha think Larry? Instead of sniveling about President Bush, who's your candidate and what are you doing to elect that person or are you just babbling and shooting blanks?

I look forward to your reasoned response.
