I have just purchased 94AE, serial starting with 653xxxx. I believe 2004 first year "Olin" markings. It has high quality checkered walnut stock and forearm. Also has hooded ramped front sight. I have only seen newer models of this year with the dovetail front sight and walnut stained hardwood (birtch) Could this be a special model? I have heard they started making these with forged parts and not stamped....any help would be appreciated. WOuld post pics if I knew how

WELCOME to 24hrcf! smile

You probably have the XTR or deluxe version. Does your rifle have the crossbolt safety in the frame? What caliber? I have a pair of XTR 9422's. One in 22Magnum and one in 22LR and luv 'em.

Thanks for the response. Sorry it is a 30-30 with tang safety. I don't believe it is an XTR. No markings to say so. It has the normal Winchester markings just the super nice stocks and the hooded ramp sight.

I purchased a Henry 22 for my son a few months back, love it, got me into levers and I dove in. Did a ton of research and found a bunch of overpriced 80's junk and almost bought a 7-waters xtr (that had the same socks as this one) but could not get over the ammo issue. then this one showed up at the local shop on consignment for short money.

I have a 30/30 94AE with a walnut checkered stock w/o the cross bolt safety. I got mine back in the early to mid 90's. Excellent gun, nice model for scope mounting, and fairly good accuracy.
