I have a new CZ 550 FS 9.3 x 62 and am looking for options for scope mount, rings and then a scope. I had seen some posts in the past that some people liked a "knock off" or detachable model. What works best..low, med, high mounts? Seems like most like a 2-7 x 32 scope.. Just depends on the model. Thanks for any advise.

I have the Talley fixed rings on my CZ 9.3X62.
I like them, I also am using a 2-7X32 scope, so the rings seem a bit higher than I like, but other than that, no issues.

I'm using the Talley quick release (lever) rings on my CZ 550 375 H&H with a Leupold 1.5 - 5x 20mm. No issues, the rings are the perfect height for me and return to within 1/2 MOA when I take them off and put them back on .

I like the medium Warne rings on my 550FS. I have a VXIII on it currently. Less fancy than Talleys but also less expensive.

I like the Warnes too. Midway has them on sale right now. I use the medium and mount a Leupold 2.5-8.
The QDs work well and are not too pricey.

I have the same mounts on the same rifle as Colorado and I am very pleased with them. They also came with a different screw that lets you install them without the detacheable lever if you wish. They cost me $115 and were well worth it.

It sounds like most of you guys like the medium height rings.. Does this rifle have a way to mount the rings directly or do you have to get mounts too? I won't pick mine up until tomorrow from my FFL guy.

Talley QD are on mine holding a Nikon Monarch 2-7. CZ has an integrated bases, much like Ruger.

The top of the reciever is dovetailed and the rear has a notch for a lug on the rear mount to prevent movement under recoil.

so the medium height (like 16 mm) should allow your bolt to clear and the shoot over the iron sights with a 32MM scope on the 550 FS ?? .. and the QD type rings allows you to easily take off your scope and use the iron sights? Am I getting this right? thanks.. I like the idea of being able to use the open sights when you want.. Thats one of the reasons I got the FS instead of the American version.

Oh..and does the quick release lever get in the way of the bolt?

My Talley QR rings clear my bolt easily, you can adjust them so when tightened they point directly up. I can take the scope off and on in seconds. Now that my rifle is due back next month as a 500 Jeffery, we'll see how the scope and the mounts deal with the recoil. I'm guessing they'll be fine ...

and when you take off the scope the lower part of the mounts don't get in the way of using the sights?

On the CZ there is no lower part, the Talley QR mounts use the dovetails milled into the CZ 500 action. It's much like the old system on the first Ruger M77s.

What you see in the image is with the scope off. I'd show an image with the scope on, but my rifle is at the gunsmiths being rebarreled.

I have been doing a bit of internet research and have found that both the Talley QD and Warne QD rings for CZ 550's come in low, medium and High sizes. Which is the correct one to use with a 32 MM scope on a CZ 550 FS? I would think the 2 issues are 1) to have the bolt clear it easily when ejecting a shell and 2) as low as possible given consideration #1 to get a good scope sight picture. Any experiences here?

i am using the medium fixed talleys with a 32mm leupold scope on my 9.3 CZ and having great results, not too high, not too low-just right.

I should be receiving a set of Millet rings for my CZ550
American. To say I'm very disappointed with the CZ rings
that came with the rifle is an understatement.

I've never used Millet rings before, but they are medium
height with a matte finish.

Mine are the medium height Quick Release Talleys, they work great also.

Talley QRs. That's what mine wears, and they work flawlessly.

Colorado.. Do you have iron sights on your CZ 550 also.. so the medium height rings can see over them with a 32 mm scope?
