until elk season.....

Ideas on what you do to pass the time until you head out into the woods. I already work out on a regular basis, read all magazines and books I can, practice shooting, check out new gear, scout when I get a chance, hit expos, etc. I can only afford to go out twice a year in Co, but I find myself constantly going insane with counting the days until opening day. I just started hunting last season and have become addicted. Maybe I have a problem. Your thoughts on passing the time.

My biggest fear is that I will spend my kids college savings on outfitters.

You need to have a custom rifle built. Getting the few pieces together for your gunsmith is worse than building a house...because it's much, much more important!

I know the feeling man.. Ive been to sportsmans 3 times in the past week... I find myself just touching things... wishing.. dreaming.. salivating =) What sucks too is that the elk are in their winter ranges right now, so you cant just go get your fix at the national park as you can in the summer. This season will be my third elk season.. and I am chomping at the bit.
