what's your favorite 243 load? Do you have a favorite for the 70 grain Sierra Blitzking?
Thanks
Elk

Varget is great for 243 with mid weight projectiles. I use it for my 70 and 85gr bullets. Doesnt meter as well as some powders though, I weigh each charge individually.

Thanks Konner. Have to say that Varget is much preferred by me. H380 is a filthy powder that I avoid at all costs. I spend twice as long tumbling cases and trying to get the soot off the brass.
Take care,
Elk

Havent tried anything but the 55 Nosler bt and the 60gr sierra. Ended up with 45.5 gr Varget and the nosler.

I use 40 gr of Varget with the 75 gr V-Max and 70 gr Blitzking. Half-inch groups from my Tikka, when I do my part. I have gotten smaller groups on good days.

I shoot 41.5 gr. of 3031 with an 85 gr. Sierra BT hollow point. Works good on chucks. Close to max, but as the powder grains went up the groups got smaller. Rare for be, but it happened in this case. The hotter the better it got. Go figure!

43gr of Ramshot Big Game and 70gr Hornady SPs were VERY accurate out of my Savage M110. Seven shots would stay inside 1" at 100 yards. I never chrony'd the load but it was one full grain under maximum that was given to me by the ballistician over the phone.

My three .243s like Varget. Depending on the rifle, 38.0 to 40.0 with Barnes 85 grain TSXs. Tiny groups and deadly when they hit deer. I have some of the 80 grain TTSXs but don't have loads worked up for them yet.

Thanks again. Looks like across the board Varget seems to be providing good results. I have some IMR 4064 and some N160 that I'll try as well.

Max load of H380 under a 55 gr. Nosler BT. It used to be listed as 53.0 gr. of H380, but they have since backed it off. I'd start at 50 and work up from there. Lights out from our M788.

i use varget with 41 grains and a 60 grain sierra hollowpoint. this combination (or close, depending on the powder amount in different guns) has gotten me sub- 3/4" groups in several different .243's, a savage, a browning, and a howa.
