IMR 4064 or Varget. I started with 4064 at a friend's suggestion and haven't found the need to try much else.

I've had good luck with BL-C but I'm shooting 36gr Varmint Grenades.

There are a number of good powders using 55gr bullets but, for me IMR 4895 works great.

I shoot a lot of 4895 in my 250. Likes 35.5 gr. with 52/53 gr. Sierra.

I'm personally having good success (3 shots touching at 100) using 55gr Rem FMJ's, Fed 210's, and 36.5gr N203 (8 lbs bag of powder that's about 30 years old)

There are a lot of best powders for the 22-250. You just have to bite the bullet, try them and find which one works in your rifle. The usual suspects are: H-380, Varget, IMR 4064, IMR-4320, 4895, and my rifle likes Benchmark best, with 55 grain bullets. Must have missed something. If someone else has a powder they like best, they'll chime in and let U know.

I started using VV N150. I had such good results in a .223 with N135 that I gave it a try. With the usual tinkering, it gives very satisfactory results and it is as clean burning as the N135 is. Don't turn it down if you have a chance to try it.

Many good powders for the 50-55 grain bullets in the 22-250. Don't over look the old ones, like IMR 3031. That is all I have used for over 25 years after an old timer sent me that way.

2Seventy: "IF", by "best powder", you mean the most accurate (and not say the cleanest burning or the easiest to meter or the powder that gives the highest velocity) powder, then I have a few recommendations for you. I have 22-250 Varminters that individually prefer Varget, IMR 3031, IMR 4064 and IMR 4895. And if you are looking for an accurate yet very lethal on Varmints bullet to use in your 22-250 then let me recommend the Berger 52 grain MEF. I have had very good luck with these bullets of late. And speaking of luck - best of luck to you and your 22-250. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy

It seems H-380 was built for the .22-250!

Im using varget and it does well. The reason I like varget so much is that I can use it in my 308 with great results and in others like the 22-250, 223, and my 270 all with good results. This means I just buy 8 or 16 lbs and start loading what ever I need. I also like Fed 210M primers with my loads.

Depends on your bullet weight. But if you're talking 50 Gr. bullets or lower Benchmark is pretty hard to beat. I'm getting .5 MOA with 50's and 3900 and change fps.
